About the Author


Michael Erskine is an Associate Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Analytics at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He teaches location analytics, web development, and IT project management. His research interests include decision-making using geospatial data, the influence of emerging technology on society, IT workforce trends, and effective IT project governance.

Dr. Erskine is a Distinguished Member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). In 2021, AIS presented him with their Award for Innovation in Teaching. In 2020, AIS awarded him Student Chapter Adviser of the Year.  In 2019, the Jones College of Business at MTSU awarded him the E. W. 'Wink' Midgett Distinguished Teaching Award. In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving, sailing, mountain biking, and hiking. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Information Systems from the University of Colorado Denver in 2013.
