About the Authors


Gabriele Piccoli is a Full Professor and Edward G. Schlieder Endowed Chair of Information Sciences at Louisiana State University and Associate Professor of Information Systems at University of Pavia (Italy). His research examines digital strategy, digital customer service systems, and digital customer relationships.

His research, teaching, and consulting expertise is in strategic information systems and the use of information systems to enable customer service. He served as Editor-in-Chief of MIS Quarterly Executive. He has been named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems (AIS). He received his Ph.D in Information Systems from Louisiana State University in 2000.

Gabriele Piccoli

Federico Pigni is a Professor of Information Systems at Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) in France. He is the former Dean of Faculty, Pedagogy, and Research. He leads several major EU-funded initiatives at GEM aimed at fostering personalized digital learning and developing a new generation of European leaders in management, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Pigni continually integrates cutting-edge technologies—AI, Big Data, Digital Twins, immersive environments—into both academic research and pedagogical innovation. His focus is on how digital innovations reshape organizations, business models, and education, enabling both individuals and institutions to adapt and thrive. He earned his Ph.D in Management Information Systems and Supply Chain Management from LIUC Cattaneo University (Italy) in 2006.
